The forth industrial revolution has began and it’s digital. Currently, new ways of organizing production processes and management models are appearing, along with a transformation of companies as they adapt to this new reality.

At the European Ecommerce Conference 2015, we couldn’t overlook such an important topic. In this session, we will consider process research, company management strategies and projects in highly changing technological environments from an array of viewpoints, as well as the importance of the Internet of Things as a driving force behind this revolution.

A highly sought after speaker and advisor, Steve’s international footprint recently included a keynote discussion at the Harvard Business Review Summit in Leon, Mexico, hosting a large global event at Google, a Keynote at Instituto de Empresa’s Annual Alumni Meeting in Madrid and various other private sector events in the U.S., Canada, Spain, and Colombia. Since founding his firm, he has also delivered conferences at Stanford University, The Ivey School of Business in Shanghai, IESE in Barcelona and the University of Sydney. Steve also advises fast-growth tech companies like Twitter, Google, Cadence, GoPro as well as some large global companies such as CapitalOne, The BBC, and Deloitte. Steve is frequently sought out as a talent expert on global TV and has been a regular guest on Bloomberg West and CNBC. He is also a regular contributor to Inc.com with his column Talent Hacking. He has been interviewed by Forbes, Bloomberg Business, SF Chronicle, Human Resource Executive Magazine, HR Magazine, Quartz, The Channel Company’s IT Best of Breed, Spain’s Expansion and El Pais, Colombia’s El Tiempo and Portafolio, and Mexico’s CNNExpansión, among others.

Prior to launching his own firm, Steve served as VP Talent at LinkedIn from 2009 through 2012, taking the company from a private firm of 400 employees, through an IPO and into the powerhouse that it is recognized as today with over 7,000 employees. The groundbreaking work Steve did at LinkedIn as the executive responsible for culture, leadership, talent and organizational development is widely seen as the textbook example of how a company can leverage its culture to scale profitably in record time. Steve’s work in building LinkedIn’s culture led Stanford University to build a case study about it and today, it is taught to their business students.

Steve holds a BA in History from Wesleyan University and an MA in HROD from the University of San Francisco. Steve is a “Mentor-in-Residence” at Index Ventures where he advises portfolio companies on best practices for a range of HR-related topics from the tactics of compensation and stock plans, talent solutions, and benefits to strategic issues of managing for hyper-growth and next generation leadership.

Vice President – The Center for Global Enterprise

Peter C. Evans is the Vice President at the Center for Global Enterprise where he is responsible for the Center’s research agenda and global partnerships. Previously, Dr. Evans held key strategy and market intelligence roles at General Electric. He was Director of GE Corporate’s Global Strategy and Analytics team. He also led GE Energy’s Global Strategy and Planning team for five years. Prior to joining GE, he was Director at Cambridge Energy Research Associates (CERA). He also worked as an independent consultant for a variety of corporate and government clients, including the US Trade Promotion Coordinating Committee, US Department of Energy, the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, and the World Bank.

Dr. Evans has extensive international energy experience, including two years as a Visiting Scholar at the Central Research Institute for the Electric Power Industry in Tokyo, Japan. His many articles and policy monographs include: The Age of Gas and the Power of Networks (General Electric, 2013), The Industrial Internet: Pushing the Boundaries of Minds and Machines (General Electric, 2012); Japan: Bracing for an Uncertain Energy Future (Brookings Institution, 2006), Liberalizing Global Trade in Energy Services (AEI Press, 2002) and Fettered Flight: Globalization and the Airline Industry with D. Yergin and R. H. Vietor (CERA, 2002).

He received his master degree and PhD degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He is a lifetime member of the Council on Foreign Relations and is a Board Member of the National Association for Business Economics.

Guillermo Dorronsoro

Guillermo Dorronsoro is the dean of Deusto Business School. With a PhD in engineering, he has held positions as a director and board member at global corporations, including Accenture, Iberdrola and Indra, as well as entities linked to science, technology and innovation such as Innobasque. These positions have always involved the strategy and promotion/management of new technology-based companies.

Dorronsoro is a member of the IAJBS Board (International Association of Jesuit Business Schools), Orkestra (Basque Institute of Competitiveness), the Basque Economic and Social Council, the UNESCO Center Basque Country and the ALBOAN Foundation, as well as the international advisory boards of MET (Women, Companies and Technology) and GICS (Global Jesuit Case Series).

Currently, Dorronsoro combines his teaching and management roles at the University of Deusto with various positions on the administrative and management boards of private companies and public-private entities in this area.

Alberto Díaz is a partner of Digital Migration Partners, a pioneering consulting company for the digital transformation of companies with considerable experience in this area. As well as working for this consulting company, in 2001 Díaz founded the Institute for the Internet Development (ISDI), where he is a member of the academic board, guiding digital transformation practices.

He began his career at Procter & Gamble, where he had various responsibilities in the Marketing, Sales and Trade Marketing departments. After a stint at Sara Lee, he joined Yahoo! in 2001 to direct its business development in Southern Europe and work as Country Manager of Kelkoo, the company’s ecommerce division until 2006.

Díaz has also worked for media groups. He was the General Director of the newspaper Metro and a member of the Executive Committee at Vocento, a role he combined with the general direction of this commercializer and positions on various boards. He will share his experience with us at the European Ecommerce Conference 2015.
