Global Strategy

Basic Pass + Gold Pass

The importance of international expansion

Managed by: Isabel Espuelas (ICEX)

The digital economy has become one of the most important foundations of economic growth in contemporary societies, a genuine ecosystem for developing new businesses in the online channel. Even though digital businesses are naturally born global, this process is not as easy as it looks. There are many obstacles and challenges that entrepreneurs have to face if they want to expand their business in another country or even another continent. Meanwhile, users across the world are connecting more and more and they are demanding international assistance.

The European Ecommerce Conference 2015 is bringing some of the most senior directors of internationalization from diverse markets with different corporate cultures such as Rakuten, the ecommerce giant in Japan, one of the 10 biggest companies in the world, with 5,660 million dollars in profits; Just Eat, one of the largest internet companies in Europe; and Just Fab, the American ecommerce fashion company which is taking the European market by storm.
